Fe de errores, as they say here: It's the COCAINE in Spain


...that stays mainly, well, in Spain.

Here I was scrutinizing the minutiae of daily Catalunyan commuter life while missing the forest for the trees. (And missing, it would seem, quite alot more.) This just in, from no less than a United Nations study: "España es el país donde se consume más cocaína." The hopelessly backward quasi-European appendage seems to have even surpassed the solid if totally debauched US of A in its affection for the ego & energy boosting powder.

I suppose if you can't think (or modernize) fast, you can at least feel fast.

UN says the country's cocaine use has doubled since 1999. Ah, that's where all those paper profits are going. In the US, home owning folks refinance to buy groceries and gasoline. But if you do enough coke, who needs food?
